Some Leeds fans have been getting worried about losing Kemar Roofe this summer. A story in The Yorkshire Evening Post has claimed that The Whites are resisting interest from both Sheffield United and West Brom for the forward, who top-scored for them last season with 11 goals in the Championship and 14 in all competitions.

Most fans seem to think that Roofe would be a key player under Marcelo Bielsa this season. The ex-Oxford United forward has the ability to tear up Championship defences with ease when he’s on his game and ability to be played both through the middle or out wide has made the Whites seem to think that the 25-year-old will be one of their key players under their new Argentine gaffer this season.
It’s true that most fans are desperate to see a striker come into Elland Road this summer, but if they don’t sign anyone they’ll just be hoping that their new gaffer can turn around some of their current pros form and make the club look like one that deserves to challenging at the top of the Championship. It will be a long road to success this season for Bielsa and co, but holding onto Roofe will be the first step for the Whites as they chase a strong season in Bielsa’s debut campaign with the Yorkshire club.
You can read the Whites’ comments on Twitter here:
Can’t believe the stick Roofe gets from some. Top scorer – regularly played out of position.
He’s a clever player and will do well in Bielsa’s system

I agree not a key player, but what better squad players are there in the championship? Not many squad players who could bag 14 goals in a season without regularly starting

Good because I think we should keep him..

As you can see, the fans are keen to keep Roofe on board and he will probably play a big part for Bielsa in the season ahead.
