Report: Premier League club remain interested in West Brom ace amid bargain fee

West Bromwich Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern will be bracing themselves for further potential departures this summer as potential suitors start to form.

The Baggies were relegated from the Premier League last season following an abysmal campaign, despite Darren Moore’s best efforts towards the final run-in.

The manager was given the role on a permanent basis following his success, as he looks to guide them back to the Premier League, however, he could be about to lose one of his most important players.

The Newcastle Chronicle are claiming that Newcastle United are interested in taking Salomon Rondon from The Hawthorns this summer.

There will be a cause of concern from the locals, as it is widely known that the Venezuela international has a release clause of £16.5million, which could make him a hugely attractive option for some of the Premier League’s clubs.

Landlord’s Verdict

Having already lost the likes of Jonny Evans, Gareth McAuley and Ben Foster, the locals in the Tavern will be hoping that they can at least keep hold of one of their core players for the tough Championship campaign.

However, Rondon would not be expected to remain at the Hawthorns beyond the summer as he has proven he can play in the Premier League and with Newcastle in the market for a striker, it remains to be seen how long the Venezuelan remains with the Baggies.
