Report: West Brom open talks with Premier League side for ace

West Bromwich Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern will know they will be in for an extremely long summer this year as they face a battle to keep their players at The Hawthorns.

Darren Moore’s side were relegated from the Premier League last season, despite the manager’s best efforts to keep them in the division, and will know he faces an even tougher battle to keep the core of his squad.

The likes of Salomon Rondon, Gareth McAuley and Craig Dawson have attracted plenty of interest from clubs in the top-flight and having already lost Jonny Evans to Leicester City, he could be about to lose another one of his key men.

According to a report by Sky Sports, Ben Foster could be about to complete a move to Watford after the two clubs decided to open talks about a switch for the England international.

The 35-year-old has made it clear that he wants to leave the Baggies this summer after he refused to go with them on their training camp in Portugal, and with just a year left to run on his current deal, West Brom could be prepared to cash in on him now rather than lose him on a free transfer.

Landlord’s Verdict

The West Brom fans in the Tavern will be disappointed to see Foster go, however, they will have realised when they were relegated that he would be one man to have attracted plenty of interest.

The ‘keeper made 41 appearances for the Baggies last season, however, his refusal to join up with the squad in Portugal would have given the locals the idea that they could be facing life without the England international.
