Report: West Brom rocked as star man makes his intentions known

West Bromwich Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hopeful that the club can keep hold of some of their stars this summer as they prepare for life in the Championship.

The Baggies were relegated from the Premier League, despite Darren Moore’s best efforts to keep them afloat and will now be expecting to lose some of their key players as clubs start to swoop in.

One man that looks ready to leave The Hawthorns this summer is Craig Dawson, with Sky Sports reporting that the defender has handed in an official transfer request.

Moore is desperate to keep the core of his team in place, having already lost Jonny Evans, however, it appears his other centre-back partner is determined to head for the exit as well.

Dawson has been the subject of a couple of bids from Premier League sides already this summer, however, the club have rejected any approach, which seems to have frustrated the player.

To make matters worse for Albion, the defender refused to head to Portugal with them for the pre-season training camp, which would indicate he sees his future elsewhere.

Landlord’s Verdict

The West Brom fans in the Tavern will be disappointed to hear that Dawson has handed in a transfer request to leave The Hawthorns this summer, however, it will not have come as a surprise.

The defender was always going to attract plenty of interest from clubs in the Premier League and his decision to refuse to join up with the squad in Portugal will have only intensified his desire to leave them this summer.
