Last season was chaotic for the Baggies. First survival expert Tony Pulis was shown the exit door, before a disastrous spell under Alan Pardew saw Darren Moore come to the club.
A ray of light was how the club performed under Darren Moore, who lost just once in his last six games. Although they were still relegated, the players showed they could put in performances of a better nature.
West Brom seem to have made wise additions so far this summer. Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone joined the club for £6.5m after Ben Foster exited the Hawthorns, and looks a very solid replacement judging by his performances for Aston Villa last season.
It looks like they are going to lose regular front man for many seasons Solomon Rondon, with Newcastle United one of several clubs interested in the striker.
With that in mind, West Bromwich Albion should sign experienced strike Steve Fletcher. The Scotsman is rated as being worth £3m by Transfermarkt. Goals was a real issue for the West Midlands club last season, and a major contributory factor to why they were relegated. They need to sign this experienced front man who could come in and make an immediate impact.
The experienced striker could be a like-for-like replacement for Rondon, and has a wealth of experience behind him. Sheffield Wednesday have a bloated squad, with seven senior strikers on their books, so would surely be willing to listen to offers for Fletcher. The big front man has plenty of experience, playing regular football at Sunderland in the Premier League. In a side with the talent of West Brom, given starting time Fletcher could be prolific in the Championship. A strong striker with a fierce shot, he would be a great fit for the Baggies.
West Bromwich Albion should drop everything and put Steven Fletcher to the top of their priority list if they want an immediate return to the Premier League.
