West Brom close to securing deal for Graeme Jones

West Bromwich Albion have been working hard to prepare for their upcoming Championship campaign as they look to get back to the Premier League.

The Baggies were relegated from the top-flight after an abysmal season and Darren Moore has been busy bringing in a number of players to help with their aims of a return.

The Hawthorns outfit have already seen a number of star players leave, whilst the new manager has been making additions to try and limit the damage they may cause as the campaign goes on.

However, Moore may have just made his biggest signing of the summer, as he looks to bring someone to his backroom staff that excelled at the World Cup.

According to John Percy, Graeme Jones is on the verge of being signed by West Brom as their new assistant manager.

The Daily Telegraph journalist revealed on Twitter that the former Belgium coach is expected to join up with Moore on Thursday, just in time for the new Championship season.

The Verdict:

The 48-year-old has a vast amount of experience in the coaching game and could offer Moore a hand in guiding the team back to the Premier League.

Jones has learnt his craft with Roberto Martinez, not only at Belgium but with spells at Swansea City, Wigan Athletic and Everton.

It looks as though an arrival is imminent and West Brom will be pleased to have their number two in line before the start of the Championship season.
