West Brom complete Dwight Gayle loan

West Bromwich Albion are continuing to work hard with their efforts to improve their squad for the Championship season.

Darren Moore is keen to see his side challenge for promotion as they look to get back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and his latest signing will certainly give them a solid chance.

According to the club’s official website, West Brom have signed Dwight Gayle on a season-long loan from Newcastle United, with Salomon Rondon heading the other way.

The striker has a proven record in the Championship and was prolific during the Magpies Championship-winning campaign and the Baggies will be hoping he can replicate that form for them.

West Brom did not get off to the start they would have liked at the weekend when they were beaten by Bolton Wanderers in the dying moments of the game.

The Verdict:

The addition of Gayle is a brilliant piece of business for West Brom this summer.

The striker will certainly replace the absence created by Rondon’s departure and the Baggies will feel they have become a greater attacking threat with the Newcastle man leading the line.

The move to The Hawthorns will also give Gayle the chance of getting regular first-team football once again and he will be relishing the chance to show what he can do once again.
