West Brom confirm Nacer Chadli’s departure

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that one of their want-away men has finally completed a move away from The Hawthorns this summer.

According to an announcement on the club’s official website, Nacer Chadli has joined AS Monaco on a permanent deal, however, the fee has been undisclosed.

The Belgium international is thought to have wanted to leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League and will be looking to impress for his new side.

The winger had a difficult time last season for the Baggies, having suffered from a number of injuries and featured in just five matches.

Despite his injury concerns, the former Tottenham Hotspur man went to the World Cup with Belgium and impressed with his performances as his country finished third in the tournament.

The Verdict:

Darren Moore will be disappointed to have lost Chaldi this summer, although a transfer was an inevitable outcome this summer.

The 29-year-old is thought to have been pushing for a move away from the Hawthorns following their relegation from the Premier League and the arrival of Graeme Jones does not appear to have helped convince him to stay.

The Baggies have already had a mixed start to the Championship season so far, however, the Belgian had not featured for them as he looked to get his fitness back up.
