West Bromwich Albion have been busy making sure their squad is in a position to challenge for promotion back to the Premier League.
Darren Moore’s side were poor for a large amount of the campaign last season and were relegated from the top-flight, which has seen a number of stars leave The Hawthorns already.
The Baggies have been bracing themselves throughout the transfer window as speculation continues to mount for the players they still have on the books, however, the manager has been active in making plans to replace them.
Moore has already added Sam Johnstone and Kyle Bartley to help reinforce the squad and has quickly added his third signing of the summer.
The club’s official website has confirmed that Jonathan Bond has agreed to a two-year contract with the Baggies, following his decision to leave Reading at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper will provide competition to Johnstone, following the departures of Ben Foster and Boaz Myhill and Moore will be looking for him to make a real impact.
The signing of Bond is a solid acquisition for West Brom as he will certainly be a useful addition to the squad.
Johnstone is expected to take the number one position, however, Bond has plenty of experience at both the domestic and international level, having featured for the England Under-21’s a handful of times.
