West Brom reject loan offer for Salomon Rondon

West Bromwich Albion are bracing themselves for a busy summer of departures, however, they will not let their players leave without a fight.

The Baggies have already seen the likes of Jonny Evans, Gareth McAuley and Ben Foster depart The Hawthorns following their relegation from the Premier League and plenty more are expected to make their exits between now and August 9.

Darren Moore will be determined to try and keep hold of as many as he can, however, he has been busy in the transfer window making a number of signings to limit the blow that could be caused with such exits.

Salomon Rondon is a player who has been linked with a possible move away from the Hawthorns this summer, given that he has a release clause in his contract and Newcastle United is thought to be the most likely destination.

However, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph, the Baggies have rejected an audacious loan bid from the Magpies, and insist they will not consider letting the Venezuela international leave unless it was on a permanent basis.

The Verdict:

Rondon is expected to leave the Baggies this summer, however, Newcastle’s financial restrictions could make a deal difficult to happen.

West Brom will be keen to offload the player due to the size of his wages, but it appears a temporary switch is not going to be enough for them to part with him just yet and it remains to be seen if the Magpies will come back with an offer for him.

Should the Baggies be able to keep hold of the striker, they will be within a fighting chance of bouncing back to the Premier League, but that remains a big if at the moment and anything can happen between now and the transfer deadline.
