West Bromwich Albion are continuing their efforts to rebuild their squad this summer as they prepare for life in the Championship.
The Baggies were relegated last season after a poor campaign in the Premier League and boss Darren Moore has seen a number of players leave The Hawthorns as a result.
The likes of Gareth McAuley, Jonny Evans and Ben Foster have already left, whilst Ahmed Hegazi, Craig Dawson, Nacer Chadli and Salomon Rondon have all been heavily linked with moves away from the club as well.
Moore has been working hard in the transfer window this summer already to ensure his side are still in a position to push back for promotion and has already signed Sam Johnstone, Jonathan Bond and Kyle Bartley.
However, it is believed that he is still in the market to improve his goalkeeping department, and the Daily Mail have claimed he has tabled an offer for Sheffield United’s Simon Moore.
The club have already added Johnstone and Bond, however, the addition of Moore could also help to improve and strengthen the unit as well.
It does appear to be a strange transfer though, however, with two excellent goalkeepers already in the squad and after having splashed out on the former, it does not make too much sense to spend on another, especially given he has other areas of the team to rebuild.
With the possible departures of a number of stars, Moore should focus on other areas of the pitch, as a goalkeeper now appears far from needing strengthening.
