West Bromwich Albion will return to action on Saturday when they host Blackburn Rovers following a heavy defeat to Derby County in midweek.
The Baggies started the Championship campaign well, but are currently on a two-game losing streak and Darren Moore will be keen to see his side stop the rot.
The defeat to Derby came in front of the home crowd and fans will be expecting a much better performance from their side when they return to The Hawthorns at the weekend.
However, their chances of getting the three points on Saturday could have been dealt a huge blow.
Ahmed Hegazi, Kieran Gibbs and Gareth Barry will all need to be assessed prior to the game against Blackburn as well.
“We’ve got a few knocks,” Moore admitted.
“We’ll have a look at Dwight. He’s probably the more doubtful one in the group.
“We’ll check Kieran Gibbs, Ahmed Hegazi and Gareth Barry. We’ll see where they are but at this moment they’re 50/50.”
Losing Gayle would be a huge blow to West Brom and their chances of recording a win against a Blackburn side in good form.
The on-loan Newcastle United striker has been in red-hot form this season, having netted 8 goals in 13 Championship appearances already this season, with his efforts putting them in the position they currently find themselves in the table.
Hegazi has been a key man at the back for the side, whilst Gibbs and Barry have each played roles from the bench this season, but Gayle’s potential absence will likely hurt the Hawthorns outfit that much more.
