Though West Bromwich Albion’s start to the season has been far from perfect, the form of Harvey Barnes has been something to shout about at the Hawthorns. Indeed, the Leicester City loanee has hit a new level with the Baggies, helping form the most devastating attack in the Championship right now.
With 15 goals in 6 games for the Baggies, Barnes’ ability to mix in with the likes of seasoned Championship attackers in the shape of Dwight Gayle, Jay Rodriguez and Olivier Burke has been wonderful to watch. At just 20 years of age, his dangerous style of play stands both West Brom and parent club Leicester in good stead for the future.
While we’re waxing lyrical about the midfielder, we recently asked out West Brom supporting readers exactly where they thought his best position was. Versatile enough to operate either out wide or through the middle in the attacking third, it seems the response has been fairly overwhelming.
As you’ll see above, a whopping 79% of polled supporters believe he’s best through the middle, where he can influence the game most.
Considering the creative problems England have in the first-team right now, perhaps this could be a big season for Barnes to announce himself properly.
