West Ham agree deal for Xande Silva

West Ham United have been busy this summer improving their squad with a number of talented additions and they could be about to add another before the transfer window closes.

Manuel Pellegrini has been active with his recruitment drive as he looks to turn the London Stadium outfit into a team that will be able to compete for European football.

He has already added a host of names that can improve both the defensive and attacking areas of the pitch with the likes of Issa Diop, Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko to name a few of their ambitious coups.

However, it looks as though the Chilean has decided seven signings is not enough and according to reports in Portugal, Pellegrini is on the verge of making his eighth for what could be a bargain fee.

According to Record, West Ham have agreed to a deal to sign Xande Silva from Vitoria Guimaraes for as little as £3million, with £1.5m to be paid upfront.

The 21-year-old is thought to be highly-rated in Portugal and is expected to join up with the Hammer’s Under-23 squad, where he could team up with Domingos Quina.

The Verdict:

A move for Silva is certainly one for the future as the Hammers look to add quality to their youth ranks.

The 21-year-old is extremely talented and has a huge amount of potential, so a £3m fee could be considered a huge bargain should he continue to develop in the correct way.

With the addition of the attacking midfielder, it may help the Irons to keep Quina at the London Stadium as interest from Barcelona continues to grow.
