West Ham and Everton could see £4.2m deal agreed, on this one condition

Our Everton and West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern simply could not have had more different seasons if they’d tried this time out.

Indeed, whilst the Toffees have been flying along and looking good for European football, the Hammers have been in free-fall and that simply isn’t good enough for a team their size.

Certainly, the Hammers’ supporters here by the bar feel they should be up where the Toffees are at the moment and so whilst that debate rages on, our landlord has been taking in a transfer story regarding the pair.

According to SportBild via SportWitness, the two clubs are both keen on Bobby Wood of Hamburg and could see a cut-price deal reached with his club Hamburg, if the German side is relegated from the Bundesliga.

If they do drop, Wood’s team will have to let him go for €5m (£4.2m,) and at that price it really could be worth a gamble on the forward.

Of course, it remains to be seen if they do go down and, indeed, if the pair of Premier League sides do decide to pursue it further.
