Both our West Ham and Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are confident of strong finishes to the year, in what’s been a topsy-turvy season for both.
West Ham had a shocker of a first-half to the season with them looking like relegation candidates whilst the Toffees were blighted by inconsistency in their bid to keep pace on the top six.
Now, though, both sides appear to be ready to finish the year strongly and it appears they’re also both keen on young Helder Costa at Wolves.
The talented youngster has impressed hugely during his time in the Championship this season and according to the printed version of The People (via The Daily Star,) both are interested.
It appears, though, that should they want Costa they’ll have to fork out a fair bit with Wolves’ managing director Laurie Dalrymple being quoted by Express & Star as wanting to keep hold of the winger.
“He’s not been bought just to be sold on.
“My understanding and my belief is we’ve bought him on a long term deal because we want him to be a big part of this club going forward.”
It could be time for a serious bidding war come the summer, then, for a player who has shown he can compete at a very good level.
He was brilliant in Wolves’ win over Liverpool in the FA Cup last month and would surely like to play that calibre of opposition week in week out in the Premier League.
