West Ham and Sunderland monitoring situation of experienced PL defender

Our West Ham and Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking for deals to bolster their respective campaigns and, according to The Daily Mail, both could be looking at Phil Jagielka.

The Everton defender has had a far from ideal season so far and has looked like he is in serious decline for the Toffees.

That has coincided with Ramiro Funes Mori and Mason Holgate playing in front of him at times this season whilst Ashley Williams has been a mainstay at the back at the club.

The former Sheffield United man could leave, then, and it appears that both Sunderland and the Hammers are interested in a potential move.

Discussions with Ronald Koeman are apparently on the agenda for the defender and our landlord believes it could be time for the Englishman to move on from Goodison Park.

Sunderland and West Ham could both do with the extra defensive capabilities Jagielka has this season and our landlord reckons he may fancy a move to the Hammers more given they are less likely to go down this year.

Where should Jagielka go? Let us know below!
