West Ham confirm deal for Fabian Balbuena

West Ham United have been largely successful this summer in terms of their recruitment drive and will be delighted with the work they have already conducted.

Manuel Pellegrini has made it his mission to improve the squad considerable to ensure they are in a position to challenge for European football this season and has made a number of additions that will only help them achieve those aims.

With the likes of Issa Diop, Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko having already joined the London Stadium outfit, the Hammers appear to have bolstered their defence with another strong centre-back.

The club’s official website has confirmed that Fabian Balbuena has joined the Irons on a three-year deal from Corinthians for an undisclosed fee.

The Paraguay international has proven himself at the top-levels of the game in South America and will now be looking to prove himself in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.

The 26-year-old has shown a lot of promise during his career and West Ham will be excited to see if he can adapt to the pace and power of the Premier League.

The defender has won a number of individual awards in South America for his performances and the Hammers will be hoping he can replicate those successes for them at the London Stadium in the years to come.
