West Ham United are expected to head into the transfer market this January as they have seen a number of their players be struck down by injury.
Manuel Pellegrini has seen the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanchez, Jack Wilshere and Pedro Obiang to name a few all spend time on the sidelines this season.
Notably, all the players mentioned can play in central midfield, which will cause the Chilean boss a concern that he may not have enough numbers to help cover situations like this.
And, according to a report, it appears that he is considering to line up a shock move for an experienced Premier League player.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder is currently a free agent and is available to play for a new team after serving an 18-month drug ban.
Nasri being linked with a move to West Ham does come as a surprise, however, it could be an inspired move by Pellegrini.
The pair worked together at the Etihad Stadium and guided City to a Premier League title, so the Chilean will know how to get the best out of the 31-year-old.
The former France international would also be able to provide the club with some experience and some excellent cover options, whilst also being immediately available, should the Hammers want to make a move for him.
