West Ham could land second summer signing within days

The West Ham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to see more players coming through the doors at the London Stadium as manager Slaven Bilic looks vastly improve on an underwhelming first season in their new home.

After all the hype and hyperbole surrounding their move from Upton Park to Stratford, the Hammers limped to an 11th placed finish last season, fell out of Europe in the qualifying stages and flirted with a relegation battle at one stage before Christmas.

According to reports from the Northern Echo, the east Londoners could finalise a deal for Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore this week, with the former Barcelona youngster set to join for a fee of £8m.

The Hammers fans here in the bar are unsure over a deal for the former Aston Villa man, who has twice been relegated from the Premier League in his two seasons in the top flight.

While Bilic is looking to add pace, and the 21-year-old is certain to bring that having been recorded as one of the top ten fastest players in the Premier League last season, with Michail Antonio the only West Ham player to make the top 20.

However, our landlord has pointed out that despite his pace the winger lacks an end product, with just one assist and 18 chances created last season.

West Ham fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Traore would be a good signing? Let us know below…
