The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a pretty significant rebuild at the Etihad this summer…
A host of players could leave the club, with the likes of Jesus Navas and Pablo Zabaleta all yet to receive a contract renewal despite the fact that the end of their existing deals are impending.
Certainly, Guardiola’s side have not been good enough this year, and so a rebuild certainly makes sense – but it appears as though a few Premier League outfits could benefit from such a change at the Etihad.
According to the Sun, Man City defender Bacary Sagna is keen on a move to West Ham this summer – with the Frenchman keen to return to London, where – of course – he played with Arsenal up until moving to Manchester.
Indeed, Sagna’s form has not been as impressive as in previous years under Guardiola – but he has continued to offer a decent defensive asset under the manager, despite his somewhat limited game time. He has made 14 Premier League starts this season, which is a decent number, but he would surely expect to get more regular time on the pitch at West Ham.
The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are certainly behind this deal, with the addition of an experienced hand like Sagna certainly an interesting prospect for Bilic. Whilst he may not be as good as he was in his pomp, he would certainly provide a consistent level of quality – and that is certainly better than what the Hammers have at present.
