West Ham: Fans want Mount at London Stadium after Rice’s comments

Declan Rice has got a few West Ham fans wondering after the Englishman spoke of his aim to play with Chelsea playmaker and close friend, Mason Mount.

Currently, Rice and Mount are working together on international duty with England, and the West Ham midfielder hopes of playing alongside his best friend once again. The two Premier League youngsters met when they were seven at Chelsea’s academy, and now both at 20-years-old, the two could share a pitch together on the international stage.

Rice was released by Chelsea at 14 and joined West Ham, where he signed a professional contract one year after joining. Mount, on the other hand, remained with the Blues, breaking onto the scene a little later as he only became a first-team regular this season with Chelsea.

Rice spoke to WHUFC.com, stating: “I’m delighted Mason is there too! When I got released from Chelsea, we always said ‘One day we will play together again’ and hopefully now that chance will be for England. That would be really special for me and my family.”

With Mount and Rice both regulars for Premier League sides having played in every league game so far (via WhoScored), and a potential England partnership on the cards, the above comments seem to have stirred up a dream for some West Ham fans.

Here is what they have had to say…
