West Ham eying move for impressive Ligue 1 defender

Mercato 365 are reporting that the club are mulling over whether to make a bid for 19-year-old Lille defender Benjamin Pavard.

The Premier League side have a good track record when it comes to signing players from France, with players like Diafra Sakho and Dimitri Payet making the move accross the channel and enjoying success in the Premier League.

Pavard has come through the ranks at Lille, joining as a nine year old, he has made five appearances for the French side this season.

The 19-year-old is a versatile defender who can play anywhere accross the back four and impressive performances for Lille have made other clubs interested.

Bilic is looking at defensive options with both James Collins and Joey O’Brien’s deal’s with the club set to expire this summer.

The West Ham fans in The Transfer Tavern don’t know too much about Pavard but feel he must be a good prospect to even attract Bilic.
