West Ham fans on Twitter simply aren’t having Mark Noble’s comments

The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been ripping into their club captain, Mark Noble after his comments following West Ham’s 4-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City yesterday. The 30-year-old midfielder described Pep Guardiola’s side as the best team he has ever faced in the Premier League as he claimed the Hammers had been beaten by a much better team when he spoke in an interview for the West Ham website.

West Ham became the most recent team to fall at the hands of Manchester City as the Citizens recorded their 30th win of the season, equalling the record of most wins in a season that was set by Antonio Conte’s Chelsea last year. Leroy Sane opened the scoring for City in the opening quarter of an hour before a Pablo Zabaleta own goal doubled the scoreline on 27 minutes. Aaron Cresswell halved the deficit just before half-time with an inch-perfect free-kick, although second-half goals from Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho secured three points for the Sky Blues.

The home defeat leaves West Ham just three points clear of safety in 15th with only three games left to play. If David Moyes’ side can secure one more win then they should be safe for another season of Premier League football, although nothing is certain in the Premier League. Noble has clocked up over 300 appearances in the English top-flight yet he described Guardiola’s side as the best he ever faced, leading to criticism from our local Irons about the level of performance turned in by their side.
