West Ham fans on Twitter slate Deeney after bizarre comments

Troy Deeney is a fairly abrasive character when it comes to footballers. The English striker was on the scoresheet yesterday as Watford ended West Ham’s run of four straight wins, and after his celebration sparked anger amongst the Hammers, his comments after the game left the home fans baffled.
That’s fair play from Deeney, doesn’t make any excuses, doesn’t moan about the abuse.

Troy Deeney is one of those strikers who thrives off of abuse from oppositions fans. He comes across as one of those players who would be in the crowd having a scrap were he not a professional football, and his behaviour can often portray that with the way he goes about his business. Although yesterday, the Irons found the way he went about the game just bizarre.
Up until the veteran Watford man scored the games opening goal they hadn’t been throwing any abuse the striker, but after he opted to grab the corner flag and run towards the home fans after scoring he guaranteed himself some stick. Then, after the game, he claimed it’s all part and parcel and appeared to get up on his high horse on it all, behaviour that has just confused the West Ham fans more than anything.

He started it, he hadn’t received any stick

Fair play? At what point was he given stick before he took out the corner flag and taunted the crowd? Think he enjoyed it as much as he did kicking in those students a few years back.

What abuse? He wasn’t get any abuse until he did the celebration. Most people probably didn’t even realise he was playing until he scored the penalty

He deserved it, he taunted the crowd. What can you expect from any Football supporters especially West Ham supporters? COYI.

Weird bloke. Didn’t get any abuse apart from booing when he was about to take the pen (happens to any player) then gives it the billy big bollocks when he scored (fair enough) think he believes we give him constant stick which is not the case at all. Merry Christmas Troy.

Fair play is a load of bollocks, he wasn’t getting abuse before he took the piss and gave it the big un right in front of our fans after the goal

I couldn’t care less if he gives it. Didn’t come too close to the crowd to do so though did he?

The Hammers are glad that the game is over and after the 2-0 loss they’ll be keen to forget all about it, especially considering the way Deeney went about the win.
