West Ham fans on Twitter want to see Rice extend his deal after Spurs’ comments

Declan Rice is one that West Ham fans are keen to see stick around for a while. The young defender has been one of The Irons best players this season, adapting to a position in central midfield with relative ease. The club now don’t play until the 20th October against Spurs, and Rice has outlined that facing Spurs is always a massive game, to the delight of the supporters.

Last season was a mixed bag when The Hammers faced Spurs. The first encounter between the sides ending 3-2 in Tottenham’s favour when the Lilywhites came to the London Stadium, however, just weeks later The Hammers had their revenge when they came from two goals behind to beat the Lilywhites 3-2 at Wembley in the Carabao Cup 4th round. Then, in the second Premier League game between the sides, it finished one apiece at Wembley.

This season, Rice and co will be desperate to overcome The Lilywhites in the league and in the Carabao Cup, as they’ve been drawn to face their rivals twice in eleven days. The fans, though, will be hoping their star man, Declan Rice can have signed a new contract by then with his comments about Tottenham only helping his cause as the West Ham faithful love having the young superstar in their ranks. The only way he can elevate himself further with the fans would be if he could score a winner in one of their meetings with Tottenham.
