West Ham fans on Twitter were fuming at dire lineup - Everton

Yesterday saw West Ham again choke the chance to take the initiative in the race for 7th place in the Premier League. The likes of Watford, Wolves and Leicester are also in and amongst it and the Hammers could have made up some ground had they won, instead, though, they fell to a 2-0 defeat as Manuel Pellegrini got his starting lineup oh so wrong.

Everton are no mugs when they’re in the mood, but still as this game approached yesterday the favourites would have been the home side. Pellegrini has got his side playing some lovely football and they’ve achieved some big results as a result of that, but when the wrong personnel are out on the pitch not much can be done, and that was the case yesterday for the Irons.

Seeing the likes of Lucas Perez and Pedro Obiang start whilst Samir Nasri and Javier Hernandez were left out was frustrating enough, and the fact that Felipe Anderson missed out with a minor knock after his time away with Brazil just made things worse. After going behind early, it never looked like a West Ham side capable of turning it around, and predictably, they couldn’t muster a turnaround from 2-0 down.

You can read the Irons’ thoughts on their woeful lineup here:

The Hammers were not at all amused yesterday when Pellegrini put the team lineup out, and they’ll be desperate for their gaffer to get it right next time.
