West Ham fans react to Manuel Pellegrini comment on Declan Rice sale

It’s been a rapid rise to stardom for Declan Rice this season.
After a breakthrough season last-term for West Ham, the England international is enjoying a stellar sophomore year in east London, earning a senior national call up for Gareth Southgate’s side and establishing himself as one of the brightest talents in the Premier League by playing 90 minutes in all but three games for the Hammers this campaign.
With success on the pitch, though, comes the question “When will the big move happen?”, and for Rice, the youngster has plenty of suitors.
Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly interested in the teenager, and Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini added to speculation over Rice’s future.
Speaking at a press conference before West Ham’s fixture with Everton, the Chilean manager said: “There are big teams who decide to pay an important amount of money. Sure, if it is a good deal for the club and the player and improves his career, then we can do it. But I know nothing about that yet.”
It’s strange that he would so openly admit that Rice has a price, given how important he is to the Hammers first team.
Of course, West Ham fans took to social media to give their opinions on Pellegrini’s comments about their star midfielder, with supporters torn on the subject.

Seeing that Declan Rice has a value of £40m apparently.
I would want double that.#ifthepriceisright— George Camp (@Camp1391) 28 March 2019
I think it’s in Declan’s best interests to stick with us for another season at least. Euro’s next summer and he will want to be with laying regularly to cement a starting spot plus then could be worth a lot more of has a good tournament.
