West Ham United: Fans slam Manuel Pellegrini after home defeat against Newcastle

West Ham United’s poor recent run of form continued on Saturday as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat against Newcastle United at the London Stadium (via BBC Sport).

The Hammers found themselves 3-0 down after just 51 minutes following goals from Ciaran Clark, Federico Fernandez and Jonjo Shelvey.

They did manage to claw a couple of goals back through Fabian Balbuena and Robert Snodgrass, but the damage was done and the defeat saw them drop to 12th in the Premier League table (BBC Sport).

West Ham have now failed to win any of their last five league outings having also lost against Crystal Palace and Everton, whilst being held to draws by AFC Bournemouth and Sheffield United (Transfermarkt).

As a result of that bad run of form, several Hammers supporters have begun to turn on manager Manuel Pellegrini, with quite a few even calling for him to be sacked.

The Chilean joined the London club in 2018 and in fairness has spent a lot of money, signing the likes of Sebastien Haller for £45million (BBC Sport) and Pablo Fornals for £24million (Sky Sports).

Because of this, West Ham fans expect to be doing better and because they are not the majority are pointing the blame towards Pellegrini. Here is what some said on Twitter after the game…

West Ham fans, do you want Manuel Pellegrini to be sacked? Or should he be given more time? Let us know in the comments below…
