With the January transfer window just around the corner, West Ham United have started to become linked with a number of players in the media.
Manuel Pellegrini improved a number of areas within the squad he inherited in the summer, however, there is a feeling that he could look to upgrade other positions in the winter.
One area is in the middle of the midfield, largely due to the number of injuries the London Stadium outfit have had to deal with this season already and the Chilean is keen to add someone with the ability to create and finish chances.
The 22-year-old has had an extremely limited opportunity to make an impact under Maurizio Sarri, despite impressing for Crystal Palace and England in the World Cup.
When given his chance to show what he can do for Chelsea, he has produced some solid performances, however, it appears as though the Italian prefers the likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic or Ross Barkley before the academy graduate.
West Ham could look to land the midfielder as he would certainly add the attacking element they want to their midfield and could thrive under Pellegrini’s management.
The Hammers have already seen a number of players hit with injury, although they will have the likes of Manuel Lanzini to make a return in the new year.
Should Chelsea allow Loftus-Cheek to leave in the winter transfer window for regular football, there will be a battle for his signature.
