West Ham United have been dealt a transfer blow in their pursuit of a new striker.
Krzysztof Piatek is thought to have been on The Hammers’ radar, however, it appears Genoa are holding out for an offer from another side.
Piatek has been in impressive form for Genoa this season, having hit 19 goals in his 21 appearances of the club.
With the future of Marko Arnautovic in doubt, West Ham are thought to be keen on bringing a new striker to the London Stadium before allowing him to go – with the Poland international believed to be high on their wish list.
There is no doubt Piatek would have been a huge coup for West Ham, however, a move looks unlikely at this stage.
Still only 23-years-old, the Poland international has been making waves with his performances for Genoa in Italy and has earned rave reviews.
However, it would appear the Premier League outfit will now need to look elsewhere for a possible Arnautovic replacement after having two offers knocked back.
