West Ham fans can sit down a lot more relaxed in the Football Transfer Tavern after their talisman said it is “very likely” he will stay at the club this summer.
According to Sky Sports, Dimitri Payet says it is “very likely” he will still stay at West Ham for next season.
Several clubs across Europe are heavily interested in French international, but he insists he will be playing at the Olympic Park next season.
Punters in the Tavern have been amazed by the 29-year-old’s talent in his debut season in the Premier League, which saw be shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year award.
It would also take a lot for someone to take Payet away from West Ham after he signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal with the club back in February. And Payet, who is currently away with France’s Euro squad, said:
“Journalists have placed me everywhere! But I currently have no contact [with other clubs] and I signed a very long contract with West Ham. It is very likely that I’ll still be here next season.”
