West Ham hold talks with Paris Saint-Germain stopper

Besiktas v Liverpool - UEFA Europa League Second Round Second LegWest Ham fans will be wiping away their eggnog moustaches after reports that the Hammers have held initial talks with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez over a January move.

TalkSPORT report that the 35-year-old, who is currently the third choice goalkeeper in the French giants’ squad, is looking to make a switch to the Premier League for his final bow before retirement.

According to L’Equipe, Douchez visited a London club recently, and various media outlets understand the club to have been West Ham.

The Hammers are on the lookout for an experienced alternative to current first choice keeper Adrian, with Douchez viewed to be an ideal candidate to provide support for the Spaniard.

However, West Ham will certainly be wary of the fact that Douchez has only featured in 10 league games for PSG since he signed for them from Rennes back in July 2011, leaving them debating whether or not they should make a bid.

Douchez signed for PSG back in 2011 from Rennes on a free transfer and was expected to be the first choice for the Ligue 1 outfit. However, with a change in management, Salvatore Sirigu has since established himself in the starting lineup.

Douchez will be looking to the Premier League then for more regular playing time.

West Ham fans, would Douchez be a good signing? Let us know in the comments below!
