West Ham identify Lorient defender as prime transfer target

biliccc09West Ham United supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern have been made up with the club’s start to the season and couldn’t have hoped for anymore.

Under new boss Slaven Bilic the Hammers have already defeated Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea this season and the Croatian manager is turning his attentions towards January recruits.

One punter in the Tavern is taking the head off his pint when he notices an article via ESPN, that suggest Lorient defender Lamine Kone could be a target for the forthcoming transfer window.

Kone has been a target for several English clubs in recent months and it is thought Aston Villa could also be keen on the player, although West Ham’s league position could give them the edge.

The chap comments that although he doesn’t know a great deal about Kone, he trusts Bilic’s instincts when it comes to the player recruitment side of things and states that the 26-year-old might be a shrewd investment.

Hammers fans… What do you know about Kone? Does the club need a defender? How do you rate the club’s start to the season?
