The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are liking the sound of this…
It has been a tough season for West Ham, and whilst Slaven Bilic has steadied the ship somewhat over the last few weeks, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Of course, the main concern amongst the West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern has been staying in the Premier League – but the Hammers’ lack of points has not been the only concern amongst those in the pub.
Given the poor form of West Ham, Slaven Bilic has had little opportunity to tinker and manoeuvre his squad – with the manager instead needing to ensure that his strongest squad is selected every single week. As a result, West Ham’s young players have seriously struggled for game time – despite a number of them being very highly-rated.
No player has suffered as much as Reece Oxford, with the talented Englishman limited to just 2 appearances in the Europa League this season – having not had a look in for much of the campaign.
This is a serious concern for those in the Tavern, and it would appear as though Rangers could look to capitalise on his lack of game time.
According to Sky Sports, who are citing Sky Sources, Rangers are in ‘advanced talks’ to bring Reece Oxford to the club – with manager Mark Warburton seemingly keen to add a bit of youthful energy to his midfield.
A versatile player, Oxford is able to play in defence and midfield, and given Rangers’ desire to return to the top of the pile in Scottish Football – that could be a vital trait.
At 18-years-old, Oxford has years to develop into the player that the West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern think he could be – but a trip to Rangers is, for them, a perfect start.
