West Ham United will be looking to strengthen in the summer after a poor campaign and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping they can attract a number of names to help them improve.
The Hammers have been in and around the relegation zone all season and decided to bring in David Moyes to replace Slaven Bilic to help steer them away from the bottom-three. The former Sunderland boss has got the team producing positive results at the right time and his side’s recent run should be enough to keep West Ham in the Premier League this season.
The board at the London Stadium are thought to have been impressed with the way he has managed the side, despite the concerns from a number of the locals propping up our bar, and the Scotsman is starting to prepare their summer transfer plans.
It is widely known Moyes is keen on bringing a number of defenders to the Irons and the Mirror are claiming he is interested in bringing West Bromwich Albion’s Jonny Evans (valued at £13.5 million by Transfermarkt) to the fold. The Northern Ireland international is set to leave the Hawthorns at the end of the season with relegation looming and is thought to be available for a cut-price £3million due to a relegation clause in his contract.
West Ham fans in the Tavern will be excited about the prospect of bringing a player of Evans’ ability and experience to the London Stadium, but the locals will be aware they will need to compete with the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Leicester City and Everton for the Premier League title-winner.
