West Ham United have had some extremely talented youngsters at the club over the years that have gone on to make an impression with the club’s fans.
And, it appears Manuel Pellegrini’s side are keeping tabs on another player who could be about to become a huge hit within the English game.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Football Insider, West Ham have joined in the race to sign Norwich City starlet Ciaren Jones.
Liverpool and Leicester City are also claimed to have taken note of Jones’ potential, whilst the Championship side handed him a new contract earlier in the year.
Jones certainly looks to have a bright future ahead of him and it would not be a surprise to see him starring in a Premier League side eventually (even if that is at Norwich).
The 19-year-old defender has been putting in some impressive performances for the Canaries’ development side this season and has been tipped to be a huge hit at Carrow Road in the future.
The centre-back has already shown that he has leadership qualities and his 6ft 3in frame would certainly make him a commanding presence aerially.
The Hammers may already have a number of talented players at the club, however, Jones could certainly be one that could benefit from joining their development ranks and improving his game over time.
Norwich obviously have high hopes for him, having tied him to a new contract recently and have plans for him to make the jump to their first-team soon, which could make it difficult for West Ham to get a deal done.
West Ham fans, do you think the club will be able to tempt Jones to quit Norwich in the summer? Join in the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
