West Ham United may head into the January transfer market to add firepower to their side as Manuel Pellegrini will want to improve his options up front.
The Hammers were outplayed by Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup on Wednesday night, and although Lucas Perez netted his first goal for the club since arriving from Arsenal, the Chilean could still take a look.
‘Gabigol’, as he is also known, is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League and is not short of potential suitors, with the likes of Crystal Palace and Everton also thought to be tracking him.
The Brazilian has struggled within European football, especially at Inter Milan, however, he has since returned to his homeland and is currently impressing with his performances whilst on loan at Santos from the Serie A outfit.
West Ham certainly need to add a striker to their ranks this season and Gabigol could certainly be an attractive option for them to consider.
The Brazil international has been able to find his feet once again during his time at Santos, having netted 16 times already this season, although there will be some doubt about whether he can adapt to the Premier League after struggling in Serie A.
West Ham could have some concerns in bringing Barbosa to the London Stadium, with agent Kia Joorabchian thought to be involved behind the scenes, a man they have a poor relationship with, following the Carlos Tevez saga.
