West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is reported to be interested in Real Madrid B striker Joselu, according to The Mirror.
The 22-year-old forward is valued at £7million by the La Liga Champions who are willing to listen to offers for the player. Joselu has featured just once for the first-team coming on as a late substitute for Benzema in a Copa Del Rey match against SD Ponferradina this season, in which he scored.
It is thought Allardyce originally wanted to take Joselu on a season-long loan as he looks to bolster his attacking options next term; however Real Madrid officials rejected the inquiry stating they want to sell rather than loan.
Joselu stars for the Real Madrid B team where he has scored 38 goals in 71 appearances. At 6ft 3 it would seem he has the right stature to succeed as a stereotypical target man in the Premier League, but the striker would offer much more than a physical presence, possessing quick feet and natural finishing instincts he could be a real asset to West Ham’s bid for survival next season.
Allardyce is currently weighing up a number of attacking options with the likes of Michael Owen and Louis Saha also in contention following their releases from Manchester United and Tottenham respectively.
