West Ham linked with move for Domagoj Vida

West Ham United returned to winning ways on Thursday with an impressive comeback against Southampton.

The Hammers have started to record a number of solid results recently as Manuel Pellegrini has seen his summer signings seem to gel immediately.

Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena have been rocks in the defence since joining the London Stadium outfit, however, it appears the Irons could look to add more men to their backline in January.

According to AMK Spor, via Sport Witness, Besiktas could be set to hold a mass exodus and Domagoj Vida could be one man to leave the club.

The Croatia international, who helped his nation reach the World Cup final in 2018, is thought to have attracted plenty of interest in the summer and could have a number of potential suitors in January.

West Ham are not the only club to have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old, with Fulham, Everton, AS Monaco and Olympique de Lyonnais all credited with a possible swoop.

The Verdict:

West Ham already have a great pairing at centre-back, however, adding Vida could be a good piece of business for the Hammers.

The Croatian impressed many with his performances in football’s biggest competition and Besiktas could look to offload the player for a cut-price in order to solve their financial problems.

It remains to be seen if Pellegrini will look to add reinforcements to his backline, or if he will look to strengthen other areas of his squad.
