West Ham United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been talking about new signing Sofiane Feghouli’s debut performance against Karlsruher, and are hoping he can emulate the positive signs in the Premier League next season!
However, it seems that manager Slavan Bilic is still in the market for a player who can provide a screen in front of the Hammers back four next season, and The Sun reports (via the Daily Star) that that man is Everton target Idrissa Gueye.
Gueye, who performed admirably in a lacklustre Villa side last season, has been hinging on a permanent deal with Everton and reports are saying that last minute finalisations are in place.
West Ham have now reportedly matched Everton’s bid and are hoping to talk the midfielder into a deal.
Gueye was rated just behind N’Folo Kante in the statistics table last season when it came to defensive midfielders, however he will only cost his new parent club £7.1million, as it is his buy out clause.
Our resident Hammers here in the Tavern think this could be an astute signing for the club, and feel his career could be revitalised under Slaven Bilic next season!
Hammers fans…. What do you make of this news? Would you like to see Gueye at West Ham? Let us know below!
