West Ham United will be looking to take a step closer to Premier League safety with a positive performance against Manchester City this weekend as fans in the Transfer Tavern will want a better display than they showed against Arsenal.
The Hammers were beaten 4-1 by the Gunners on Sunday and David Moyes pulled on punches at the end of the game by stating that some of his players needed to be better, with Declan Rice making a costly mistake.
The manager has identified his defence as an area of weakness and has been looking for new additions, whilst it also appears that he will let some of his experienced back line depart this summer.
The Daily Star are claiming Winston Reid is one of those who could be set to leave the London Stadium as he is thought to be on borrowed time. The New Zealand international is the second-longest serving player to remain with the Irons, with Mark Noble ahead of him, but has seen his season end because of a knee injury.
The 29-year-old had seen his performance levels drop at the beginning of the year and had called for a number of the locals in the bar to call for him to be left out of the side, despite being their vice-captain.
The West Ham fans in the Tavern will naturally be disappointed to see a player who has been at the club as long as Reid has leave, although the locals will feel it is the right time for him to go and will be looking at Moyes to bring in a quality addition or two in his place during the summer transfer window.
