West Ham United could have a completely new look about them next season if Manuel Pellegrini gets his way this summer.
The Chilean made a number of improvements to his squad when he arrived to try and freshen things up, however, a year on and it seems he still has plenty more renovations he wants to make to get his house in order.
And, it seems the London Stadium outfit might be having a huge car boot sale by the sounds of it.
What’s the News?
According to a report by The Express, Pellegrini is preparing to offload nine players this summer as he looks to refine his group of players.
Samir Nasri, Andy Carroll, Javier Hernandez, Lucas Perez, Pedro Obiang, Adrian, Sam Byram, Jordan Hugill and Edimilson Fernandes are all believed to be facing the chop.
Looking back at the nine names that have been mentioned in the report, it would be rather hard to have a case as to why West Ham and Pellegrini would be better off keeping them at the London Stadium.
Obiang and Hernandez may be the only ones that you could make a slight argument for, although there are plenty of players that would be available for a price in the upcoming transfer market that would have to be considered upgrades on the duo, given their recent poor form.
Both Carroll and Nasri have been expensive flops during their time in east London and with their contract’s expiring at the end of the campaign, offloading them this summer makes huge sense.
Perez has spectacularly failed to make an impact, whilst we won’t even go there in regards to Hugill as his move to the club back in January 2018 has never been understood.
Adrian has been a loyal servant, however, with Lukasz Fabianski playing out of his skin in between the sticks, clearing his wages from the books makes complete sense.
Bryam and Fernandes could both fetch transfer fees that could help West Ham improve their transfer budget in the summer, although selling them may be a task that is easier said than done.
West Ham fans, are you surprised by any of the names rumoured to be facing the axe? Do you think any of them should remain at the club? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
