Since West Ham moved into The London Stadium in 2016, it has not been all plain sailing.

They have had three managers and had some very tense relegation scares in that time. They have seen star players leave, and have been at the end of some fairly unpleasant results.

So when defender Fabian Balbuena praised the fans at the stadium after their recent victory, it showed that the club and the fans are finally getting on board with the stadium.

It wasn't always a popular move to leave the much loved Boleyn Ground after being home to The Hammers for over a century, but it looks as though the new move is starting to be successful. It was always going to take time for the fans and players to adjust to the new surroundings, as, after all, they moved into a vastly different arena, but Balbuena's comments show that they are moving in the right direction.

Saturday's 3-1 win over Man United is a victory that has not only shown that West Ham are on the road to recovery after a shocking start to this season, but can galvanise the fans to ensure that they have many more days like this. They host rivals Tottenham at the stadium later this month, and Balbuena and all the players will hope the fans rallying behind them in the same way.
