Charlton Athletic are enjoying a rare break at the moment as they did not have a fixture in League One this past weekend.
The Addicks had the time to recover after a gruelling period of matches and will be looking to get back to work next weekend when they take on high-flying Barnsley at The Valley on Saturday.
Lee Bowyer’s side have been performing well as of late, however, mistakes at the back have cost them points in their efforts to challenge for promotion to the Championship.
One man that has been impressing is Josh Cullen and it is understood that the Addicks are keen on signing him on a permanent deal.
However, the Hammers fear that there could be problems with negotiations as they worry there will be a concern over the asking price for the 22-year-old.
Cullen has impressed during his time at The Valley and has made six appearances for Charlton so far this season.
Bowyer is keen to bring the young midfielder to The Valley on a permanent basis and he would be considered an excellent addition should they be able to convince West Ham to sell.
Despite the fears that there could be issues regarding an agreement about a price for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, the fact that the Hammers are open and willing to discuss a move could give Charlton a huge boost in their pursuit for him.
