West Ham plan to land Danish keeper

Rumours are rife in the Football Transfer Tavern today and a talkSPORT correspondent has just let on that West Ham United are ready to sign Nordsjaelland goalkeeper Jesper Hansen.

The unknown journalist explains that the Hammers are locked in a transfer battle with Italian side Catania to sign the Danish shot stopper who has featured in all six games of the Danes Champions League campaign this term and even conceded six goals in their recent away defeat to Chelsea.

Sam Allardyce has already sent scouts to watch the 27-year-old after hearing positive reviews about his performances and they could now make a move for him following Nordsjaelland’s failure to reach the last 16 of the Champions League.

Although Hansen has been called up for the Danish national team at youth level in the past, he is yet to make his senior international debut and would represent something of a transfer risk for Allardyce.

If the Irons do manage to bring the goalkeeper to Upton Park in January he will surely be second choice, fighting for a first-team place with Jussi Jaaskelainen who has been so impressive this season after arriving from Bolton in the summer.

Can you see Hansen arriving at Upton Park soon or shall we return to our pints? Vote in our polls below.
