West Ham plot audacious attempt to land Arsenal legend after bust-up

West Ham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been mocking a group of visiting Gunners fans all day in the wake of the news that The Hammers are looking to striker a deal with an Arsenal legend after he left the club this week.

Arsenal’s all-time top goal scorer, Thierry Henry, has left his role as an U18s coach with the Gunners after reportedly being told by his former manager, Arsene Wenger, that he could no longer fulfil his role whilst still working as a pundit for Sky Sports.

The former Barcelona striker tweeted yesterday confirming that he had been offered a role by the head of the Gunners academy, Andries Jonker, but that he respected the decision of Le Prof:

The Frenchman was set to complete his UEFA Pro Licence qualification of the coming season, but he will now need to look for somewhere else to finish his training.

According to reports in The Sun, London rivals West Ham and Watford are prepared to offer the 38-year-old a role within their coaching setup whilst allowing him to continue working as a pundit with Sky Sports.

The UEFA Pro Licence is the top qualification available to European coaches and is a mandatory requirement for any coach that wants to manage a Premier League side.

West Ham fans, we want to hear from you! What do you think this Arsenal legend can bring to Slaven Bilic’s coaching staff? Let us know below…
