West Ham United have been looking at making a number of changes to their side this summer as Manuel Pellegrini is determined to turn the team into a competitive force.
The newly-appointed Hammers boss wants his new side to be challenging for a spot in European football, by means of playing in an attractive style and has already begun to make transfers that would help him achieve those ambitions.
The Irons have already added a couple of names that would help to strengthen the side immediately in defence, however, it appears that the Chilean is keen on trying to bring at least one more central defender to the London Stadium.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, West Ham are to go back to Newcastle United with a second bid for Jamaal Lascelles. The Magpies initially knocked back a bid of around £25million, however, the east-London outfit are prepared to up their offer.
A possible deal for the Newcastle captain would seem rather ambitious for West Ham to try and pull off as the Magpies will want to keep one of their best players.
After having a bid already turned down, it is thought the Hammers will need to up their offer considerably for it to even be considered, which would make it appear as a deal that they may not be able to conclude.
