West Ham prepared to offload Marko Arnautovic

West Ham United have enjoyed an excellent transfer window this summer with the number of recruits they have signed.

The Hammers have already brought in the likes of Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko, Issa Diop and Felipe Anderson to help with Manuel Pellegrini’s aims of achieving European football next season.

The Chilean has shown his intent with the landing of the ambitious targets, however, he could be prepared to lose one of the club’s stars from last season because of his current transfer activity.

According to a report in Italy, Leggo are claiming that West Ham have decided to offer Marko Arnautovic to AS Roma. The Austria international’s place in the first-team has come under threat with Anderson and Yarmolenko joining, meaning the Hammers could be prepared to cash-in on the player.

The report also suggests that the former Stoke City winger could be signed for less than 20million euros, a price considerably lower than what the Irons paid to sign him in the first place.

The Verdict:

The 29-year-old had proved to be the shining light in what was a difficult season for the London Stadium outfit and his performances helped to keep the club in the Premier League.

It would seem a shock to see him depart, however, with players who are thought to be an upgrade on him in those areas of the pitch, it does make sense for him to be available to leave.

There were concerns before all the transfer activity that he could leave the Hammers, with Manchester United and Jose Mourinho thought to be sniffing around, however, those rumours appear to have gone away.
