The West Ham United fans watching last night’s game in the Transfer Tavern bemoaned a lack of attacking quality.
While the Hammers enjoyed the lion’s share of possession, it was ultimately the lack of cutting edge that cost them the three points.
The game ended 1-1 but the lack of an out and out goal scorer cost West Ham, the fans claimed after the game.
But the Hammers could be about to swoop for a striker in January.
According to a report by The Daily Mail, West Ham are considering a £15m move for Fyodor Smolov.
The FC Krasnodar striker is in red hot form, striking eleven goals in just thirteen games this season for club and country.
The Russian international has been attracting interest from a number of clubs but the Irons are looking to steal a march on any potential rivals for his signature.
With 56 goals in three seasons at Krasnodar, the 27-year-old could be the goal threat that West Ham are desperately after.
Javier Hernandez is currently out injured, Andy Carroll is out of form and Diafra Sakho is looking for the exit door.
This could pave the way for the pacy and versatile forward Fyodor Smolov.
